Sadly, no Madison this year. Apparently it conflicts with my football tickets so we are staying home. My liver is much happier, but I will miss the good times for the year. Next year I will be back and plan to make up for the lost year. I will seek you out DHP to share a few beverages.

Worst line ever from Madison:
"30 minutes til game time, and I am not drunk yet"
"Another mason jar long island?"
Looking at watch "sure!"
Then the haze set in...

I sometimes wish we cheered for the same teams, I think a roadtrip with some of you folks would be a blast.

Thomps, don't be a punk, update your sigline. If you are going to post stats, don't just selectively pick the ones that you like the best.

My group of three is making it's annual trek. Our 15th consecutive year!

I have a conference to attend Wednesday and Thursday so I can't make it until Friday. I do promise to have a nice buzz as I arrive so I will be in my groove come game time.

I think my tagline only shows how often I am on here anymore.... Some day I will update it just for you DHG. Though, will it help the stats at all? :D

I am making the Madison trek and ended up with an extra pair of nice lower level seats for Friday's game.

I will put this in tickets thread too.

Section 124 / Row N / Seats 15 & 16.

Price is what they cost me: $59

Please PM if interested.

We have 8 of us going down there for the weekend (7 gopher fans, and one poor-poor bucky fan). I see State Street Brats seems to be the Gopher hangout. Is that going to be for both nights???

State Street Brats is generally the Gopher Hangout before the games on both nights since many of us stay at the University Inn across the street although last year there weren't as many as usual. After the games Gopher fans scatter.

I hear Wando's is popular after the games, but I never go to Wando's so I couldn't comfirm.

The KK is your standard "bro" bar... like The Library on campus, or perhaps Brothers downtown. IMO, if you want a great bar that not many people know about... "The Bar Next Door" (next to the Coliseum Bar, across from the Alliant Center) is a nice dive. It's not a Gopher bar, but a large group could definitely make it one. It's a hike from the Kohl, but it's better than dealing with the red menace firsthand at the KK

We found a fun place last year with alot of Gopher Fans. Johnny O's is the name.

SSB is the pregame along with the Red Shed to get 1 last beer.

Some people do go to the Nitty Gritty but you might wanna get there by 4pm.

Brats will be packed that day, with Bucky playing football and IN, get their early

Do you know if SSB will show the Gopher football game??? Odds are it will be a morning game so wasn't sure based on Wis playing a road game?

I'm sure if you get there early enough they could put it on a TV or two ... there is one TV (maybe a few) upstairs that you can just reach up and change the channels on, so that could be an option though I'm guessing you'd have to keep a close eye on said TV if there are Badger fans in the area.

The weather was nice last year and some people in my group sat outside at SSB in the afternoon. They turned the Gopher game on one of the TVs for us. Of course, Bucky was terrible at FB last year, so attitudes may be different this time around.

Was Johnny O's the big bar with several pool table/dart boards down the road from Wando's?

Yeah, it's on University a few doors down from Wando's but before Brothers. Very roomy place.

will be making the trip down again this year... went to State Street brats during the day on Saturday last year and got the Gopher football game on upstairs with a couple other Gopher fans.

Wisky is definitly fun time.... would go there 3 times a year before I go back to UND.

I have never seen the Kohl Center so empty and I have never encountered so many D bags in one city ever.

There was a time where 3 different guys wanted to start a fight with my group in a one hour span and we were honestly just sitting at the bar talking to ourselves. We eventually left the bar and walked to Gumby's only to have another group try to start a fight with us again. The fans were asses at the games too.

I have never encountered even half as many of the Badger fans be such total cocks. They had a bad chip on their shoulder for some reason. And this was mostly on Friday. After a Badger win.

Weird.

Did anyone else experience this?

We didn't have anyone wanting to start fights with us but did have alot of kids talking smack to us Friday night at the bars, but funny that all stopped on Saturday.....

Overall it wasn't bad, I was actually expecting much worse from some of the stories I have heard.

We had no issues except for people throwing bottles at our Hotel window. No idea why??? Did get a little crap Friday while wearing my Bonin jersey. Cardinal almost dropped the Heatley bomb on them. Good times this year. One of the best.
