2009-10 Gopher Jerseys

What are the Gophers going to be wearing for jerseys this year? Where can I purchase an authentic or replica?

As far as I know, they're still wearing the same jersey designs from the past few years. Unless I missed something, they were wearing the same white home jerseys this past weekend as with last year.

Regarding where to buy replicas, I haven't checked for quite a while, but the last I heard, adult sizes were sold out everywhere. But check with Gold Country/Goldy's Locker Room as they have a close relationship with the UMN athletic department and would be among the first to know whether more are being produced.

Give me a ring the next time you're back in the Cities. We can go watch Sid Hartman sob uncontrollably now that teams are starting to leave the Metrodome.

If Wisconsin-Madison is the state's most prestigious university and the state itself is known as The Dairy State, does that mean UW is Bovine University?

Since they are keeping the home and presumably road design the same, I wouldn't be surprised to see a new third / alternate design to rake in some cash around the holidays as they've done in the past.

Is there a rule on how often they are allowed to change jersey designs?

Found that at the College Shop at the MOA, so I'm assuming they are the new money-grab / alternate jersey this season. I think they will look good on the ice but the replica was poop, especially for $120. They are modeled after a recent Team USA jersey ... can't tell in the pic, but they have 4-5 stars on the lower part of the sleeve, which seem kind of out of place to me. I wish Nike could figure out how to make a decent looking 'M' on the replicas. They did a few years back but the recent ones are very blocky to me.

I like those uniforms: simple with kind of an old school look.

Too bad the replica "Poop" jerseys that Nike is selling aren't even correct either. The game jerseys don't have the "shoulder M's" like the replicas have. Here is a nice "Pioneer Press gallery" from last night:

http://www.twincities.com/gophers/ci_13636864

Plus all of the replicas that have been for sale in recent years at Gold Country aren't even close as to what is on the ice especially with the "M" logo. I find it interesting that they sell "authentics" in the Ralph for Sioux fans, but when one calls Gold Country and asks "when are you guys going to sell the authentics" they say "we can't get them" or "there wouldn't be a market for them locally". Are they saying that Sioux fans like to buy jerseys more than UofM fans??

I find it funny on both ends since I can get them any day from the jersey manufacturer: SP in Canada- whom really produces Gophers game jerseys. i.e. ever since the team has worn Nike, Mission, Easton, and again Nike- ALL of these jerseys are "produced" by SP- and each manufacturer just puts their own logo on them.

The new "game jerseys" are nice...but not this replica "poop"

Gold Country is notorious for "running lean" with their stock. They want the absolute minimum in inventory. They are worried that the authentics would not sell as they would be a bit pricey. Personally, I think they should give it a try. I think they would be surprised. At the minimum they should carry a good quality replica.

I do find it interesting that the U comes out with new jerseys every year in order to sell more, but if one wants to buy one they can't be found.

I was disappointed to see the home jerseys for sale at Gold Country are now the Nike Swift material and have jumped up in price to $120. Weren't they around $80 before when they were the old air-knit fabric?

Also the new Nike Swift jerseys have a really poor M logo on the front. The letter is way to thick and the trim around it is miniscule. They are really cheap looking as a result.

Try this site. Got mine from here and they will personalize it as well, they do outstanding work!!!

I concur with GOPHER NATION on the jerseys from this store. I just got my throwback in the mail from Kyle and it is very, very nice. The material, stitching and patch-work are, indeed, outstanding. I don't know if he makes the current jersey used by the Gophers, but he has a nice selection of older styles. I would recommend his stuff to anyone.

Aside from talking with him on the phone regarding my purchase, I have no affiliation with Kyle or his business. I contacted him after visiting his site linked in GOPHER NATION's post. IMO, the quality of his stuff is far better than anything you will find in a store and I just wanted to promote a local business with a quality product.

Thanks for the heads-up GOPHER NATION.
