Holy crap, welcome to the party dude. This happened back in July. Have you been in a comma? If so congrats on making it through. While were at it, lets get a Big Ten Hockey conference going!
The trade went down today big fella, those were trade rumors in July. So congrats on making yourself look like a ass.

Taking a multi-step run at a guy and leaping into his path isn't what I'd categorize as clean. This was cheap...cheap....cheap.
This hit was not cheap, catching a guy with his head down in the neutral zone is what makes playing defense so fun. I'll admit Phaneuf did leave his feet but he didn't take a muti step run at him, he lined Okposo up and put a good shoulder into him. If Phaneuf would have hit Okposo with a elbow I would say it was cheap, but he didn't. I bet you Kyle will have his head on a swivel in the neutral zone next time.
But i guess we should just agree to disagree.
I lean dirty because Okposo was not his responsibility and he left the wing wide open to take the hit. It wasn't a good play and it certainly is BS for an all-star to make in a pre-season tilt. Don't give me the turn it off BS. Watch an all-star game.
Don't let your mind wander; it's far too small to be let out on its own.

Hmmm. I guess you are right and ESPN, NHL.com, and every other sports outlet is wrong. Way to take a pointless shot at someone where you wind up being wrong. Hooray!

I think just the statement "Have you been in a comma?" made him look like an ass, irrespective of whether or not he was correct.

Hey, it could've been worse. Had he asked if you've been in a semicolon--now that would've been d-baggish!

As if I don't make my self look like an ass on a regular basis. I mean really, imo I am just laughing at myself again.
You haven't been in a "comma, ala,,,,,,,,," before?
A friend of mine was helping me with a project yesterday. He is not a sports fan. He wanted to know if I have ever heard of "Tom" Vanek because he (Vanek) is building a house near him and read that he played hockey.
I checked to see how Ryan Stoa and Derek Peltier were doing in Colorado...Stoa was assigned to Lake Erie on Monday and Peltier is still on the roster. Colorado has their roster down to 27 so there is a chance for Derek to make the roster!

I told him that the name rang a bell.
An off season dacha? or is this a potential sign of a move from buffalo? I can't believe buffalo would trade their top scorer.

IIRC, he has always maintained a home/condo here in the cities. I think he lived close to a couple of his ex Gophers (Martin I think). I also think Ms Vanek is a graduate of the U , so it makes sense . Plus, as Sid says, once you play for the U, you will live here forever..

They are building in the Stillwater area and I believe Ms. Vanek is from that same area.

I went to the Aves pre-season game tonight (vs the LA Kings). Peltier started the game and played a regular shift. He only got one shift during a power play, but ended the night +2 (I think).
Neither team was playing all of their big-name players, but Peltier didn't look out of place. He looked pretty confident with the puck and even tried to join the rush a couple of times.

I'm obviously biased here, and by saying that, I mean Phaneuf is probably the most over rated defenseman in the NHL. I know this, cuz I had him on my fantasy squad last year... On any given night, I hoped he'd goon it up, just to get me some points... Cuz he was brutal. Almost embarrassing. That said, what kind of 'star' head hunts in the early preseason? Hacks looking for a roster spot do that. He is just a clown... Anyone who can let Sean Avery upstage him, then become such a non-factor, has not much to offer in my book.
Kyle is doing good, per my sources. Probably start skating here in a couple days. Hopin' to be ready for the opener. Could have been a lot worse. Obviously wishing him well and a speedy recovery.

Watched the Bruins game on Vs. tonight and Blake Wheeler looked bad, but so did the rest of the Boston Bruins. I know its the first game of the year but the Caps owned the Bruins tonight!

I did not see the goal, but according to the radio Goligoski was the last Pen to touch the puck, however the Flyer D-Man shot it into his own net.
Last night against the Coyotes, Alex scored what looked like a goal on a sweet wrister only to have the goal waved off because Matt F'N Cooke took a stupid penalty in front of the net.

More than 300 former North Star, Olympic and Gophers hockey teammates and family and friends waited in silence when a blindfolded Neal Broten was led by wife Sally into the Fine Line Music Café for a surprise 50th birthday party the other day in Minneapolis.
Guests included Walter Bush, Shane Churla, Dave Gagner and Chuck Cannon, the award-winning Nashville songwriter who performed some of Broten's favorite tunes. Friends flew in from New York, Los Angeles and Dallas.

As a pens fan and a guy who watches all their games I'd say it's more of Kris Letang's job to step up into Sergei's offensive role, but Gogo will probably move up into the second D pairing. If anything Alex needs to work on the defensive side of the game rather then his offence, his offence has been awesome so far in his young career. Also former Wild player Martin Skoula is getting a chance to play due to Gonchar's injury.

Alex Goligoski was chosen as one of the three stars of tonight's game against New Jersey. He had the Penguins only goal of the evening on a nice play where he had gone down low and jumped on a rebound.
“I took a shot and then got tangled up,” Martin said. “I don’t know if it was a slash. We’ll know more tomorrow whether we get X-rays. We’ll just wrap it for now and we’ll see what happens. It doesn’t feel too good.”
When asked if it was broken, Martin replied, “Maybe. I couldn’t say. It kind of locked up on me and we tried to numb it up and it just wasn’t able to hold the stick.”

Wow! That's great.

Alex Goligoski logged 27 minutes of ice time last night due to a beat up Penguins d-corps. Gonchar has been injured for a while, Letang left the game in the first period with some sort of injury and McKee took a game misconduct. For a large portion of the third period the Pens were down to four defensemen.

It appears Vanek has again landed in Coach Lindy Ruffs dog house. Ony 12 minutes of ice time. Time for Buffalo to try to trade him. But who's going to pick up that salary?
Kessel scored twice last night and KO had winning OT goal.
