I'm not quite sure what else to say about it because it speaks for itself...

Aside from a few errors in terminology, that's a great article.

It's really easy to forget that the guys on the teams from the AFA, USMA and USNA are soon to be commissioned military officers...out leading troops into harm's way. That comes with a risk and our nation is blessed to have men and women willing to take it. God bless you, Lt Hines.
Where's the $18k?

Good article. Thanks for posting.

On a somewhat related note, there is a fantastic book about West Point life that I'd highly recommend. "Absolutely American", by David Lipsky. It was a fascinating read, and I couldn't put it down.

Can I add one to that list?

"The Long Gray Line" by Rick Atkinson is excellent - tells the story of the West Point class of 1966 and their experiences at WP as well as in the Army and civilian life after graduation. Very good book. Link

As an aside, I totally forgot to send you that package I promised, HB. It'll go out this week...I forgot it in the back of my Jeep.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just requested a copy from the library and will pick it up next time I'm there. Thanks also for the package STG!

The students of the Service Academies represent the best of college athletics. They are true student athletes. As STG wrote, God bless you, Lt Hines, rest in peace.
President Bush said, "And it seems like Minnesota is pretty good at hockey, too."

"I think in the best interest of his career, he definitely would benefit from playing one more year of college," Gretzky said.
