Ohio State lost to Purdue, who the Gophers beat, so I guess the Gophers are better than OSU. That argument doesn't hold up. Boise is not a juggernaut, but juggernauts are few and far between in college football. I'd put Oregon on par with Texas and I find that win pretty impressive.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I think Crosby has a point though about seeing Florida Alabama twice. Anticlimactic and what happens if they trade wins? Who's the champion?

Could theoritically have a split champion - Coaches vote for the BCS title game winner (as contractually obligated) and the AP goes the other way. I'm fine with that - it just puts more pressure on the BCS system. 8)

The Gophers just got screwed on a review call that goes for a PSU TD. Not that they deserve to win the game because their offense is embarrassing, but at least get the call right.

College football is F'd up. I can't see Boise State beating Texas in a head to head match up, if you do then good for you. I personally think that a Florida and Alabama should play for the national title but the chances that a one loss bama or florida gets in over a no loss Texas is doubful, plus who want's to watch that match up twice. Who ever wins the Big 12 will probably go onto to the Championship game.

Exactly. There is ZERO chance of BSU ever taking down a Big 12 powerhouse like Texas in a head-to-head match-up.

USC certainly subscribes to that considering the only won the poll one year, then the game the next to claim that they're a dynasty.

What's going to hurt Iowa is their non confernence schedule. Northern Iowa, Iowa State, Arizona and Arkansas State. It's one of the weakest non conference schedules in D1 football. Even if Iowa runs the table, there is a good handful of one lost teams that would still be more deserving and ahead of Iowa.

1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. USC
5. Cincy
6. Boise State
7. Miami
8. LSU
9. Oregon
10. Iowa

I'd say Florida should still be number one until someone can stop them AND score points on them. LSU did great defensively against them but did nothing even with their vastly improved offense. I think Alabama is my favorite out of state team and they have a better chance than last year, but they'll need to get their run game going and McElroy will have to be a lot better than he has been all season (against Florida in the SEC championship game if it happens).

Iowa is getting absolutely spanked by indiana. The score doesn't even do the utter beating they are taking. 21-7.

Iowa looks just awful. Stanzi's damn near completed more to Indiana than to Iowa.

As a Hawkeye fan it is my right to :censored: about this friggin game. As usual Iowa plays down to the competition, get exploited as a team that can't defend against a good passing offense, and has a suspect quarterback. Stanzi has been lucky all year and the STOOPID STOOPID STOOPID passes he is making is ridiculous!!! I am still so happy from the Gophers hockey game last night that this isn't bringing me down, I thought that the Hawks wouldn't lose until Ohio State...turns out to be wishful thinking. I just want a Big Ten title...that's it! :anger:

Gee shocking...Indiana can't get anything going (Chappell stinks he shouldnt be a starter anywhere) and is forced to punt AGAIN (after already giving up a huge TD) the punt goes nowhere and Iowa gets ANOTHER big TD and takes the lead. Indiana is a friggin joke. It was so predictable it is funny.

As long as Indiana Football exists the Gophers will never be the worst team in the Big Ten.

I realize it's houston vs. southern miss but houston's QB has thrown for 559 yards and 5 TDs today. That's insane.

And while they are down 43-50 with 4 seconds left, so miss take three consecutive timeouts to work up a play.

Florida just punted for the, get this, 19th time this year 7 games in. THey have allowed 0 return yards on the punt. I'm sorry but I think there has been a game (or two) where Minnesota punted 19 times. :anger:

g_manpucker wrote:As a Hawkeye fan it is my right to :censored: about this friggin game. :anger:

Well...after this little tirade of mine I only watched parts of the 4th quarter, being the superstitious guy I am I thought by me not watching it was helping the Hawks...it worked. I still am very leary of Stanzi, Hayden would have benched him after 4 int's in ONE quarter, but Ferentz sticks with his guy. It was another ugly win, bad thing is the computers can't see how bad the game was...good thing is that the pollsters did, I hope the Hawks drop in the polls, they deserve to. Don't get me wrong I am really happy that Iowa won, but this close game crap sucks...

p.s. leave the "instant" replay up to the NFL

Tebow now owns the most rush TD in SEC history breaking Herschel Walker's record.

Whats funny is that Georgia was playing awesome cut the lead to 14-10 and then did one of their amazing "Lets overcelebrate a TD" dances at the 50. Florida came back, kicked a 56 yard FG and is now rolling. The Georgia coach is a moron because he never puts a stop to this. I cant imagine the alumni are happy how every year his team starts off ranked ridiculously high and they do nothing with it.

I have a feeling the Tebow haters are gonna be frothing at the mouth when this game ends :D

Anyone watching the NW PSU game?

"That's just good fundamental basketball" was used correctly to explain a muffed punt, two-handed chest pass, all for a first down by NW. Made me laugh.

BTW, NW 10, PSU 3

I've been tuning in every now and then, but I can't stomach a full 60 minutes of Big 10 football. It is amazing how far it has fallen behind other conferences in terms of watchability and athleticism.

Can't help but be impressed by the Ducks. They lose Blount; lose Thurmond; use a patchwork secondary and they're still just cruising through the Pac 10. The Trojans reign of terror in the Pac 10 is over for at least a year.

So its another weekend of college football and Iowa is losing after the first half...I should be used to this but I'm not! Stanzi went out after being pressured in the endzone and fumbled the ball leading to the Wildcats to pounce on the ball for a TD. :censored: Ever seen the movie "The Replacements"?, you know...another bad movie by Keanu Reeves? Well, Iowa is like that, except the replacements we have in the game now are replacing the replacements...next man in I guess!? :anger:

2 minutes left, 82 yards, down by 7. They need another miracle that's not coming.

I didn't realize that there is that much hatred of the Hawks, Iowa fans really don't hate the Gophers. Hate to admit it but Stanzi is the reason that Iowa got to 9-0, he usually had enough magic to come out with a win. A redshirt freshman wasn't going to do the job today, oh well. The media was waiting for the loss to come, hell even us Iowa fans were waiting for it to happen...just happened a week earlier than we expected.

Actually, I was hoping that Iowa would go undefeated for a few more weeks. I wanted the Gophers to exact sweet, sweet revenge for last year's result. Thanks for stealing the dream, Northwestern. :censored:

I think that this years battle for Floyd will be pretty competitive, depending on the extent of Stanzi's injury he might be back by then and the Gophers are battling in every game it seems. It definitely won't be the blowout last year was, no nookie for Iowa fans in the bathroom this year! :anger:

The initial reports I heard on the injury was that it's a season-ender. I really hope the Iowa site I got the information is wrong. I may hate Iowa, but that doesn't mean I want a kid to suffer and injury.

Ferentz reported at the post game that the X rays are negative and they are classifying the injury as a severe sprain of the ankle. They are reporting that he will be out the last two games as of right now. Iowa has a tough road to the Rose Bowl. :anger: :anger:
