Latest Tweet from Roman makes it seem the worse case scenario likely.

Considering it came from Roman I expect Barriball to be playing this weekend then, because Roman is MORON! :)

I agree with FHG. His coverage of the Gophers has gone downhill (assuming it was ever uphill) since he took over. Don't really follow him since he's usually always days late on info.

As a Sioux fan I found that Ryan Cardinals coverage is better than Roman's. Again that coming from a tin foil wearing Sioux fan.

Didn't mean to imply it couldn't.. Just pointing out that if he wanted info, he could read the Border Battle thread because it had info. (rather than me repeating it)

Tough loss for a team that was already lacking goal scorers.
Why is it so windy here in Minnesota? Well its because North Dakota BLOWS and Wisconsin SUCKS!

I just read that and saw this:

Further down the road Lucia said junior Jacob Cepis, himself injured but expected to return mid-way through this season, would be a player that could be expected to contribute in place of Barriball.

So, what's the Cepis injury now?????

I only used up two years of eligibility wrestling in college, I am certain that my couple of years experience playing park hockey could really benefit the Gophers...somehow...maybe?

I wouldn't say it's moot. Injury affects him being able to practice with the team. That affects how he's going to perform when he can play. Etc.

How about Leddy?

Also (not having read the article) I would guess that the "Cepis injury" is more likely the author of the article forgetting that Cepis was a mid-year transfer and coming up with an explanation as to why he's not playing right now than that he's actually injured... :?

Maybe, but it doesnt effect the team RIGHT NOW. The team isnt shorthanded because Cepis can't skate.

Official Release from the 'U'

Barriball to Undergo Season-Ending Knee Surgery

Minnesota senior Jay Barriball will undergo season-ending surgery on Friday to repair a knee injury suffered in practice on Tuesday.

Barriball has played in five of the Gophers’ six games this season, making him eligible for a medical redshirt and the opportunity to return to the team for the 2010-11 season.

The Prior Lake, Minn. native and Academy of Holy Angels graduate scored his 100th career point in the Gophers’ victory over Alaska Anchorage on Friday. He has two goals and two assists this season and 39 goals and 63 assists in 124 career games. Barriball has 43 more career points than any other current player on the Gophers’ roster.

Barriball will have his surgery on Friday morning and the Gophers will take the ice that night at Wisconsin for a 7 p.m. faceoff.

The first three are basketball players and the last one you have in bold is a football player. They aren't playing due to injuries though.

Always bad to have a player get injured in the manner that Barribal did. Whether he be a Gopher or a Sioux player etc.
