Isn't our legal system set up so that once an individual is found guilty of a crime they are sentenced. Once that sentence is completed, have they not paid their debt to society. Now, I understand that what Vick was involved in is dispicable, but that is the court of public opinion and decency. He has to live with that, which will not be easy.
Just my .02.
Don't get me wrong, I hate what Vick did, it is disgusting. That being said, I hope he does cleanse himself from the sick acts of the past, and come out and apologize publicly. However, a public apology won't do enough. He needs to do something more. Maybe donate multiple millions of dollars to animal shelters around the country--Lord knows he has enough money to do that. Maybe volunteer to help out at the Atlanta Humane Society for a while. Clean himself up. Don't do it for the public, don't do it to clear your name, do it because its the right thing to do.
If he does that, then yes, maybe allow him back to play in the NFL. But as of right now I don't see him showing any remorse for his acts. He hasn't even addressed the public by himself, he is speaking through his lawyer at all times. Show some remorse for what you did. And make up for it.
