If you're going for TV that isn't empty calories, "America: The Story of Us" is improving as time goes on. Tonight's episode has been pretty darned good. Bonus points for highlighting the role of the best vehicle in the world (Jeep) in our WWII effort.

Thought if it instantaneously.
Great ep so far, really gets this character relationship going on another level between Walt and Jesse.

You nailed this on the head. I hated this episode up until the last 20 minutes. It really came together amazingly well.

I almost thought Walt was gonna blurt out something about how Jane died and cause some real problems (kinda like when he mentioned the 2nd phone). Glad he didn't. I'm guessing next week's episode will advance the plot a bit further.

They always show 'scenes from the next episode' when there is an episode on the following week. If it follows the same pattern, it'll start up next spring again. I'm certain they'll be filming this over the summer/fall as usual. I watched 'George Lopez Live' last week with Bryan Cranston on it (he actually had hair), but they didn't talk about next season.
I thought it was a fantastic way to end the season last night - although I was a bit frustrated because the Comcast guide said it would be a 1:47 finale and it wasn't even a full hour.

What were you watching where he was on? Seems like he is all over TV in the past year or two...but I do find many of those kinds of shows fascinating after having gone on a trip to Egypt

Chasing Mummies. He's very knowledgeable on egypt but this show exposes him for who he really is. I had no idea. Lost a LOT of respect for him.

Looks like they are all in the 800-900 range and includes many duplicates of HD channels in the 190-230 range - for example, TNT is channel 204 but they have a duplicate TNT HD channel in the 800s. I was gone for two weeks and don't remember seeing an announcement regarding this before I left so it was a very pleasant surprise.
The only reason I noticed was the HD channels I had in my favorites list (like ESPN HD channel 202) the new channel number had been added to my favorites for the HD channels in the 800 range. I think I only have a couple of channels left in my favorites that are not HD.
davescharf wrote:Did they do the digital conversion in your area? That would be the only thing I could think of that would result in all the new channels. I'll have to check at home but I don't think ours happens for a couple weeks.

Renamed themselves Xfinity or some worthless crap like that. Reeks of synergy and other buzzwords mixed together.
Jeff Oftos wrote:Comcast has been slightly re-branded, as 'Xfinity'. Part of this 're-branding' is launching their new network/service/offerings which include about 140 HD stations. The Mpls/St. Paul area is a part of their 2nd wave (I believe) of making this available to their users. I live in Blaine and noticed this sometime about a week ago. Guys I work with that live in Roseville and Shakopee do not have the upgrade yet but will have it by October.

I'd rather have a WWII week where they rotate the battles year-to-year. Just focus in on the one for a week and analyze the hell out of it. Or focus in on a single company or platoon or air wing.

It is a shame. I used to watch it all the time too. I bought the Fox College Sports package for Gopher hockey last season, but sports channels were not the only channels included in the package. It gave me random channels that had nothing to do with sports, such as the Military History channel. THAT is where it is at. The channel is what the History channel used to be. I cancelled the package once the Gophers were done for the season ($10 a month x 6 months Gophers do not play = $60 saved), but I will call to renew it again in October. I'll be watching a lot of the Military History channel.
psych wrote:I absolutely cannot believe Mad Men has not been mentioned in this thread. The best television show I have ever watched. I just finished Season 3 (Season 4 is currently airing) yesterday, watching all 13 episodes "spread out" over about 12 hours. I was so hooked I could not stop watching. It is on Sunday nights @ 9 p.m. central time on AMC.

I actually dozed off during Hawaii 5-0 tonight. It was not interesting at all. Would not recommend it. My friends and I also tried watching Lonestar on Fox. I thought it was alright, maybe some potential there. Finally, I caught Mike and Molly on CBS after all the good CBS comedies on Mondays. If you like fat jokes, this is the show for you. I don't think it will be recorded on my DVR again.

I thought Hawaii Five-0 was just all right. I'm going to give it another week. What I found unintentionally funny was that Steve McGarrett is supposed to be this super cop, but he had to get an explanation why Dan Williams was called "Danno".

Here is a show that every time I come across it I'll sit and watch and find it very funny. However, for some reason have never put it in the DVR cue. I think I need to start doing that.
