Without Facebook I would not have kept in touch with them, and would not have seen them for 3-4 years. That would effectively kill most friendships, but because of FB I feel like we are still going to remain friends when they come back to MN after school!
People can bash FB all they want, but it's an amazing way to stay in touch with people and stay connected

While I understand that many people don't like any color in the center, it truly ruins the meat. First, you have to start with at least a 1 1/2" cut of meat. It has to be put on the grill (only way to cook it) at room temperature and don't over season. Salt and pepper is all that is needed. Don't get cutesy and creative with a chunk of beef. Lately I have been really into New York strips, don't like them as part of a t-bone, but by themselves, they are incredible. Ribeye is too fatty for me right now and top sirloin, even though the taste is great, they are a little tough. Where you buy your beef matters too. Luckily I have the best butcher I have ever been to right across the parking lot from work. Anyway, I turn my grill up as high as I can get it and sear the steak for 1 minute on each side and then turn the grill down to 250 and let it sit for 4-5 minutes on each side. Let it rest for 5 minutes before cutting it open. I have been eating mine with Dijon mustard lately too which I think adds a lot to the taste.
Quick funny story, my entire life I haven't enjoyed steak. I always thought steak was to be cooked like shoe leather. I remember my dad grilling steaks and cutting them open and seeing a little red and putting them back on the grill because my mom didn't like any pink. Same with burgers. When I started goofing around with learning to cook steak, I progressively cooked them less until I can pretty much eat a steak rare now, but then the fat is not grizzle and that isn't good. Anyway, grilling was always my dad's thing so I never asked to cook. Fast forward to the last year, my parents have come over for dinner and I have cooked steak medium rare for them and burgers the same (I told my dad that I refused to ruin the meat so he could put his on longer if he wanted) My mom was absolutely amazed at the taste and finished her entire steak. She said she loved the warm pink center. My dad shook his head and said he thought that his whole life that she didn't like any pink and asked why my mom didn't say anything. She said, "I just thought you didn't know how to cook steak and I didn't want to hurt your feelings!" If that isn't true love, I don't know what is.

From the right (the Herb side) count over 4 standing players, exclude the suit. I'm between the 4th and 5th player. My shoulders are even with their helmets. I'm wearing a gold MN sweatshirt with the skating gopher on it. Big forehead, dark hair.
5OT, now I see where she bought the photo.
BTW, it was also on the cover of the program for the first game of the next season. I have that in my collection.
And yes, I'm that damn old.

I prefer mine cooked medium well and slathered in ketchup.

Only 19 player and 2 coaches.
Same picture today would have twice as many people.

The red liquid you see on the plate IS NOT BLOOD! Blood comes from veins and arteries, not muscle tissue. It's protein saturated fluid. Maybe this should be in Pet Peeves because it bugs me when my wife complains when she sees even an iota of pink in her steak or burger. She once sent a steak back 3 times at a fancy restaurant in Maui.
