Auto-loading video on news and sports websites. It makes it very hard to scan scores or news while at work (and my computer needs to have the volume up for various programs).

I don't drive it every day - the wife does - but when we travel it is tough to beat. I used to like to think I was normal, until I realized how lucky I am not to be.

If it makes you feel better we have lost our last 3 games because of one inning in each game.
Tuesday and Thursday we took a lead in the top of the first and lost the game in the bottom of the first.
Yesterday we had a lead going to top of 6 and allowed 4 runs because of mental mistakes. Lost 4-2. Stranded 8 runners.

Haha been there before. We've been ranked in the top 15 of the state most of the year for class A. We won our sub-section semifinal game with a walkoff suicide squeeze. We've won 5 games on walkoff plays this year haha. We went into the final inning in one game down by one, first guy got walked and the next guy hit a walkoff homerun.
In our sub-section semifinals and championship we gave up a total of 6 runs and they were all unearned. It wasn't a good day. Do you coach high school?

I don't know if it's a pet peeve or just an annoyance. But it's about damn time Disney and ESPN graduate from elementary school, get out of 1992, and drop the "go" subdomain. Seriously, I swear this is the only company that doesn't use their name as their web address. It just seems odd.

Even as a parent of a toddler these piss me off, usually because no one has any understanding of their surroundings. You could even put people who walk 2-3 wide in a supermarket aisle or sidewalk or anyone who can't stop right in front of you in a busy place.

Some of us who have twins really need to use those double/triple strollers. And some of us that do that avoid those really congested areas. Having a little situational awareness is a start.

This is the real issue; having a large stroller in and of itself isn't a problem. Having a large stroller and not realizing that there are other people within a ten-mile radius of you is.

I prefer the F-14 style of stroller if that's the case. A pilot and a RIO.

Preface: I work at a grocery store.

Kids (Usually ages 14-18) who come in groups to the store and take one of the tiny carts meant for little kids.

They walk around the store looking around and laughing like "OMG aren't we so outrageous and funny!" And when they don't get the attention from people they thought they were going to get they usually just leave the cart in the aisle for me or someone else to put away.

OH, I get it! That cart is clearly meant for a child much smaller than you guys, how HILARIOUS!

We took the boat out last night and tried to catch some evening walleye. We were really having no action and finally my dad hooked into something and pulled it up off the bottom and we saw it's side flash and realized it was a big fish. We thought for a second it was a walleye until it made a loooong run taking out drag and we realized what he had hooked into. After 5 or 6 long runs we got it tired out and netted it. Our measuring trough goes 36" and this muskie was hanging a good 3-4 inches over that so it turned out to be a real nice fish. The funny part was watching all those muskie fisherman pitching their humongous bucktails and whatnot and not catching anything while we stumble into a muskie on a jig head with a Gulp leech while trying to catch some walleye(which we did not catch any of).

Nice! I find it funny that people are already throwing the big stuff for Muskies. Although around the metro you could maybe get away with it since the water warms pretty quickly. Small and fast is usually the ticket for early June. I saw a guy casting a pounder bulldawg already. I usually don't see fish on those until at least July when you can find them in deeper water, but maybe I'm missing out on something. From the pluthera of boats out there on Saturday, everybody I talked to said they weren't even moving any fish so it made me feel good that I enticed the one to bite (although I rarely see a musky fishermen openly admit when they're having success).

Hitting a small lake in Maple Grove tomorrow evening. Hopefully I can find some action.

This is kind of a simple pleasure on my part and I think you might get a kick out of it(maybe not though :D ).

Not a muskie fisherman so I don't know what all the musky baits are called but pretty much everyone we saw was pitching some big a$$ baits out there. FYI, we were on Lake Independence. If you have never fished it for musky it might be worth a shot. It has some big fish and it is pretty darn close to the metro.

We've caught/hooked several big muskies early in the season on a jig and a leech. When we're actually trying to catch them early in the year, we typically use Husky Jerks or Mepps in size 5.

My second biggest musky (40") was actually caught on an ultralight with a size 8 hook and a leaf worm while fishing for trout. Probably the last thing you expect to full out of a little plunge pool in a creek that averages 1-2 feet deep. It must have made its way up the creek from the river during high water and gotten stuck in the pool when the water went back down.

Wes, I hope it wasn't on The Pond where you were skunked. The fish are on the chew right now. They are being caught all over the lake. The sand is still good. The mud was really producing yesterday. I even pulled a few from 30ft. in the gravel last night just before close. After pulling Lindy's for a few hours yesterday, I went to the weigh in of the MTT at Hunter's Point. There were 10 big fish weighed in yesterday. 10! One team even had two. Thousands of low 20's fish caught by tournament anglers this weekend. I just hope they all survived.

See my most recent post above. We were in the metro here.

We were on the pond for opener and had real good luck. We might head up there this weekend depending upon the weather and if we have a place to stay. Some friends were up last weekend and slammed 'em so maybe we can get lucky this weekend as well if we head up.

Service industry workers who smoke. Maybe that is too general, but I have had it with ordering dinner or getting a haircut, ect from people that smell like walking ashtrays. Maybe if you are going to be in really close proximity to others as part of your job you could find a way to avoid stinking like your habit.

On that same note, it boggles my mind that a business owner would let their employees smoke in front or anywhere in plain view of the clientele. I can't believe how many times I have seen it lately. It is probably just a function of the warming weather.

Ha! That's where I was starting at 5 am and where my biggest musky (51 incher) came from. That's the lake I fish most often too. I don't like Tonka because of all of the drunk a-holes. If I fish there it is only on a weekday early morning. I'll be at Indy plenty more times throughout the year since it's the lake I know the best.

I've fished it for walleye a handful of times too and never caught a damn thing.

Over the past few years there we have had good luck on walleyes. Decent numbers for a metro lake. Not a lot of size, but some friends of ours did pull a 26" out of there one night last summer. It seems like the walleye numbers are down a bit it seems so hopefully it will come back because that is a decent little lake not too far from the metro.

I've noticed this more and more as well. I think this is a huge thing with a lot of chefs and people in the food industry. When I am at my parent's house sometimes I get stuck watching America's Next Top Best Chef in the History of the World(when my mom has control of the remote) or whatever the hell those stupid shows are called and all those contestants smoke it seems like.

Back onto the "zipper merge" concept everyone was talking about...this morning on my way into work (94W), the left lane was closed and everyone was merging. The warning for the lane closure was not an early one. So MOST people went up until the end to merge cuz there really wasn't much of a choice. Same goes for me. By the time I realized the merge was almost right after the warning, I tried to get in (wasn't gonna push it til the end, even though I was close to HAVING to anyway). It actually ended up being a decent zipper merge with the shorter warning. But there was one "enforcer"...in a HUGE dump truck or something of the sort...he flipped off the car in front of me (who still had plenty of room in the left lane to merge) for merging in front of him. Then, I wasn't even gonna try to merge in front of him, but he actually pulled over into the left lane to block me off. I thought, "What a prick." Like I said, it's one thing when you have a mile + of warning and they cut over at the last minute effectively stopping everyone else. But this? Wish I could've given him the Jr Law Enforcer badge cuz apparently that's what he was striving for. Jackass.

A big pet peeve of mine that is growing with each passing year... why do so many people in this state have such an issue with being straight forward? I'm talking specifically in the professional/work environment.

It seems like people here are often incapable of being direct on anything in the work place. I am not saying people need to be rude/harsh. Certainly you have to use some tact in some situations where what you have to say has some criticism of sorts. But I've found it is all too common in this state for people to avoid being direct with others. They pussyfoot around and avoid being direct and all that does is piss people off more in the long run because they feel there was a lack of honesty/sincerity in what was originally said.

I'm sure other places have their issues too but I think Minnesota is one of the worst in this regard. Too much MN Nice crap.

Have you perused this thread, Hammy? Most of it is an excercise in passive aggressiveness. My gal is from out of state and after living here for about 5 years commented on how many people here are passive aggressive. Then asked me why I turned out to be more aggressive aggressive. :D

Knee-jerk layoffs. My company let several people go this week, including a pretty good friend of mine. This, after just one bad month of sales (which isn't unusual for May/June). Not exactly good for company morale.

June 6th is my mom's birthday. Sucks for her, she never celebrated it since nothing was more important!

Kidding, of course. I think WWII is the most important thing to ever happen in the history of the world. But my mom's birthday is more important to me :)

France probably feels pretty happy about it. Probably the rest of Europe, too.

How many days get devoted to "military stuff" every year, anyway?

-Memorial Day
-D-Day
-Veterans Day
-Pearl Harbor Day

Ooh...four whole days. I'm sorry you feel so put out.

I wish someone would have told me. I would have skipped all this work I got done today and stayed home and watched the History Channel all day.

The History Channel would have told you all about how we were only able to storm the beaches with the help of extra terrestrials. And then the troops dug through a bunch of French barns looking for stuff to pawn or sell, after their buddies came down to look at it.

Well it's a good thing you didn't skip work.

The History Channel apparently doesn't care that much about D-Day. There's an all day marathon of Pawn Stars on........

There was actually a documentary on this morning that looked really interesting, about D-Day from the perspective of about 10 different people. An American soldier, a German, a Canadian, a British spy, etc. But now that I think about it it might have been on the Military channel or something. I wanted to watch it but I didn't get the memo that nothing else mattered today and left for work. I'm going to see if I can find it tonight.

So you could watch a marathon of Pawn Stars? Military channel would be your better choice.

Sure, for some people. It's DEFINITELY important, but I'm just saying not everything has to take backseat to military stuff every time. We have to celebrate other stuff, ya know?

Absolutely, thousands of men stormed those fortified beaches just so you or Google could celebrate what you want when. It also gives me the right to point out how silly it is to celebrate a drive-in theatre on the anniversary of such massive sacrifice - but by all means feel free to do so.

You are right. It also takes more than a military to ensure freedom (although it does INCLUDE the military :D ).

EDIT: I know we (meaning many other people here and I) won't agree much, if at all, on this topic... But someone has to represent those that oppose, haha...

The abundance of coverage given to the Lock-out at American Crystal. I understand it has been going on 10months but anytime someone involved sneezes it seems as if a news crew is there to cover it.

I think anything local involving strikes/lockouts are still due to the Hormel thing in the 80's. That :censored: was crazy.

Vendors that offer expedited shipping on products that they just order from their suppliers before sending it out to the customer. Especially vendors who don't mention that to the customers. I'm super pumped to find out that I'm paying an extra $40 to get my stuff in 2 weeks and 2 days instead of 2 weeks and 5 days.

Why offer overnight shipping if you can't be bothered to stock products? You don't actually make anything. Your one job is to maintain inventory and ship stuff out as orders come in. Overnight shipping is useless to me if you need to wait two weeks for you to get the stuff in stock. I could understand if the products were rare, custom, or expensive, but these things aren't. What would you say you do here?
