Re: Local Broadcasting/Media

Is it just me, or has the KFAN morning show gone completely in the dumper since Morris was laid off? Hawkey sings over every song. Corey would rather talk video games and 90's TV than sports. And this new schtick with Meatsauce personalities made me shut them of this morning. It is just brutal. I c...

Re: Pet Peeves

After eighteen and a half years in the Army I have been passed over for promotion (Master Sergeant, E-8) again this year. Already having my bachelors degree I am excited to retire and work on my masters degree and transition to a new career. My pet peeve is the fact that after missing the promotion...

Re: Headline News 2013

I'd like to clarify... Not only has this long been the law in Texas, but the 18 year old age limit isn't the case here. Kids can drink in restaurants if their parents are present. This means that, if I chose to do so, I could allow my 14 year old daughter to order a margarita with dinner. There's a ...

Re: Pet Peeves

As an aside, I've been involved in vaccine manufacturing and in chemical/biological weapons defense over my working years.

To say that my years as a US Army Chemical Corps officer were useful in the years I spent decommissioning a vaccine plant would be a massive understatement.

This might be a dumb question, but...when I was a kid, having the flu meant being sick to your stomach and staying home from school eating saltines and drinking Sprite. When did having a cold become defined as having the flu?

Re: College Football 2012-2013

Given all of the anti-private school feelings I've seen here (during the state hockey tourney), I have to wonder how much of the anti-ND sentiment has to do with the fact that they're a private school. They're a formerly great program. Shouldn't we be past the jealousy stage with them?

Re: College Football 2012-2013

Look at it this way, if Boise State played the same schedule they would have been in the Orange Bowl...Notre Dame got in on name alone. Exactly. Incorrect. Notre Dame defeated the following teams on their way to an undefeated season (partial list): - Michigan State - Michigan - Miami (FL) - Stanfor...
